Be afraid. Be very afraid.
Rainstorms are few and far between around here. But damn, when they show up, perfection. Just wait for the perfect snowstorm. The town is electric and peaceful and stunning.
I’ve been living in Denver for 70 days and this is the FIRST legit rainy day I’ve experienced. The scintillating details:
- I actually have the light on in my home office - unheard of! And it’s the only overhead light in my apartment that has a non-terrifying light bulb.
- I can finally wear my glasses because there is no blinding sun (I love you sun, I swear!)
- I scampered out of my building, got in my car, drove to Starbucks, drove back home, and didn’t get drenched / need an umbrella or rain boots, despite the solid rain (MAGIC!)
- I’m super tired this week so this gloom suits me perfectly.
- I must leave my house only once more, to get free weights for Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred video, because today it makes sense to not go to the actual gym. And because I threw away anything useful when I moved.
- The weather put Missy Elliott’s “I Can’t Stand the Rain (Supafly)” in my head.
Not too shabby.
